These Aren’t Your Grandmother’s Art Classes
Welcome to an on-going series of arts education workshops designed for thinking men and women who are longing for stimulating creative encounters. All of these intimate encounters are taught by top working professionals and teaching artists ready to share insights into their working lives as well as their personal crafts.
Inside the Creative Studio is a distinct departure from the standard “how to” art class. Instead, we hope to provide provocative, entertaining and educational encounters that will inspire you to view art as a chance to practice thinking as much as acquiring a skill. These workshops are designed to be STIMULATING, INTERACTIVE and INTIMATE. Most class sizes are 10 or less.

Where Are Classes Held?
Class locations vary. Many classes are taught “inside the creative’s studio” location (funny thing about that.) Others are on the tranquil, river front campus of Community Stepping Stones in Sulphur Springs. Check class listings for locations.
Registration
You may register online with a credit card or PayPal when you select your class OR you may download a WORKSHOP REGISTRATION, print and mail it with your check. Be sure to leave enough time for it to be received and processed in advance of the class.
Participants will be notified in advance if classes are full and will placed on a waiting list if they so desire.
Activity Fees
Some classes require small activity fees which cover costs for your personal materials. These costs are NOT included in your registration. Activity fees are to be paid directly to the instructor the day your class begins.
Cancellation
Registration may be cancelled without penalty up to one week before a class begins. A full refund will be made within 2 weeks to your credit card. Between 7-1 before the class begins, there will be a 50% withdrawal penalty. Once the class begins, no refunds can be made.

Every teaching artist in this program generously shares their registration fees to support the teen job training programs at Community Stepping Stones. They are not only talented, but caring individuals, and we encourage you to support their work.

Who’s Behind These Workshops?
Inside the Creative Studio is produced by Community Stepping Stones (CSS) – a nonprofit learning center (501c3) that serves at-risk teens in Sulphur Springs by offering an after-school, integrated arts curriculum designed to inspire, educate, and prepare them to become successful adults. Inside the Creative Studio is one of CSS’ social enterprises, providing much-needed income to fund the teen program. More importantly, our teens receive job training by apprenticing for the teaching artists who participate in this program.
